Isla Mujeres Tours in Quintana Roo

The laid back and tranquil atmosphere of Isla Mujeres is only a short catamaran ride away from Cancun. The island, traditionally a fishing village, is about eight miles from Cancun and in recent years has become more popular among tourists, though it retains the relaxed charm and a welcome change of pace from the crowded areas of Cancun. Small in size, the entire island is only about 5 miles long and a half-mile wide but it offers a multitude of activities and shopping opportunities. Our take: Isla Mujeres is a fantastic day trip to round out your Mexican vacation.

There are a variety of day tours to Isla Mujeres which normally include a catamaran ride, some free time to experience Isla's Centro (or downtown market area), and beachside food & drinks. Several Isla Mujeres tours even include snorkeling which is a highly recommended activity in the crystal clear waters surrounding the island.

If you're looking to get outside of Cancun for a day and experience a slower side of Mexico, consider Isla Mujeres tours. Be prepared for a full-day experience; day tours to Isla Mujeres are usually 8-10 hours from start to finish. If you want to save, pair your Isla Mujeres day with a full day Mayan Ruins tour of Chichen Itza combo either the day before or after.
